Many of the holiday customs we hold most dear today, actually came into being and gained popularity during the Victorian era, the years from approximately 1840 through the turn of the 20th century. President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln would like to tell you a little about what the holidays were like in America during this time, and how some of the customs we observe today first came to be.
